Horrible

Did not provide services that were promised. Cost $249 before anything was even discussed and have been waiting for a quote that was promised that afternoon or first thing in morning and still never received it. So instead they keep sending these reviews, I would do your job instead of worrying about theses reviews.

Beyond Excellent Service

After previously having had two less than satisfactory experiences with Ambient Edge personnel , I thought the third time’s the charm or strikeout. Daniel Honeycutt saved your reputation in my eyes . He was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, gave clear explanations of everything he was doing and didn’t try to high pressure me in anything. Since aI have a background in science, I like to know how things work and options and he was able to answer any question I threw at him. He suggested things that would make my system work more efficiently and how I could keep it that way. The price for the capacitors he replaced in the furnace and HVAC were very reasonable and a lot less than the previous Ambient Edge technician had quoted. I would ask for Daniel personally in any service call. You are really fortunate to have such a valuable employee.

Great Service and great price!

This was a very positive experience from the beginning when Robert came out to talk with us about options to replace our old cooling/heating system. He was very thorough and worked with the manager to get a deal we are very happy with. The tech showed up right on time and worked professionally and expertly to install our new heat pump. They were very pleasant. The install and cleanup was smooth and done to our complete satisfaction. Everything was hauled away and we are thrilled with our new heat pump. The inspection was handled quickly and efficiently by the office and two days later we were inspected and passed. We've been customers of Ambient Edge for years, but are even more impressed and satisfied with them after this install. We would recommend them to anyone we know! Thank you Ambient Edge!

Arrived on site and spoke with Julie. Explained hood was down a few days after belt was changed. Handyman found melted wire nuts and remade connections to get hood running. Stated motor is good but electrical whip needs to be changed due to fatigued wires and rotting insulation. Went to roof to find hood with awful vibration. Jbox left open on side of hood with exposed wires. Found exhaust hood cover to be missing all mounting bolts and numerous rubbed out holes from not being mounted over the years. Removed top to find motor with terrible vibration, electrical box open with exposed wire nuts, capacitor section open and flopping around, and safety overload bypassed to motor. Motor running extremely hot over 200 degrees. Motor shut down with tech present. Explained this issue to Julie and chef. Motor likely damaged with excess play in system, electrical issues, and age. Highly recommended no repairs be made at this time. Exhaust hood should be replaced due to age, condition, and cost o

Arrived at customer's residence and found a break in the thermostat wiring under the home for the Intertherm split cooling system. Created estimate to relocate thermostat in hallway under the return and performed the repair by running new wiring from the air handler through the wall. Tested system in cool with no issues. Work completed.

Arrived and was shown mechanical thermostat that had failed. Customer bent metallic strip to force system to cool. Also has issues with airflow in living room, material in ductwork, ductwork collapsing, etc. Will provide estimate to replace thermostat to get customer by. Strongly recommend new equipment and new ductwork due to severe damage, animal feces, lack of insulation, and collapsing in areas. Recorded refrigerant pressures which show very low to no superheat due to poor airflow. This will damage aging compressor due to liquid flood back. Will submit info for install to reach out over new ducting for home.

Arrived on site and found coffin case cooler not cooler right. Found sight glass flashing. Added half pound of 404a to bring levels up. Unit began cooling correctly. No further issues. Site explained had work done on the cooler last year by another company. This is the likely reason for the slight low charge issue. No leaks noted while on site. All work is complete.

Install new refrigeration lines and connect to new manufactured home coil installed on electric furnace. Called customer to have neighbor provide access through gate and into home. Performed full system inspection recorded refrigerant pressures, amp draws, operations, and system cleaning. System performing to manufacture specifications with no issues noted. Washed down condenser coil of debris and took apart electric air cleaner for service. Reset light on unit. Set thermostat to vacation mode per home owner instructions. Unsure of how long so set schedule until September 30. Homeowner can change when they return. Maintenance is complete.

Arrived on site and homeowner explained system has been freezing solid and not cooling. Unit struggles to cool home and is driving up energy bill. Has had unit off for two weeks. Went to condenser to find 1996 nordyne condenser. Unit nearly flat on charge with flattened spots on coils and large section of lower coil eaten away due to corrosion from dog urine. Explained system is very old, exceeded its life expectancy, and is not worth trying to repair this system. Manufacture likely doesn't make a coil this old anymore. Customer has appointment for tomorrow with comfort consultant to go over options for updating equipment. Explained operations of heat pump system and benifits of installing package unit outside home to eliminate furnace inside. All work is complete.

Arrived and checked in with homeowner. Was shown trane package unit on right side of home. Recorded amp draws, pressures, inspected electrical harness, and test operations. Found system to have issues with poor airflow. Opening evaporator section to expose revealed very matted coil. Recommend chemical coil cleaning to improve airflow through coil to prevent freezing. Also found fan motor capacitor slightly weak. Will quote that as well. Customer declined options at this time and will clean coil himself. Maintenance is complete.

Arrived on site and checked in with homeowner for regular maintenance on heat pump package unit on roof. Went to roof and removed power. Inspected wiring harness, motors, and capacitors. Jumped system into cooling mode. Recorded amp draws, refrigerant pressures and temp splits. Found electronic air cleaner in return duct. Removed all media and rinsed out with water resetting gauge to show its clean. No issues to be noted with this equipment. System is performing to manufacture specifications at this time. Recommend adding ac Renew to refrigeration circuit to aid with oil return and condition existing oil due to age of 9 years. Will provide estimate. Customer approved quote for ac renew addictive after explaining product. Went to roof and injected through suction line using high pressure side to move oil into system. Slowly flowed into system over course of about 5 mins and retested system health. Compressor amp draw lowered and pressures look normal. All work is complete.

Cooling maintenance performed on Lennox heat pump RTU. Checked electrical and mechanical components, recorded refrigerant readings, and rinsed outdoor coil. Verified filter was clean upon arrival and was not required to be changed during this visit. No discrepancies noted and maintenance is completed.

Arrived on site and found thermostat set to 66 and room temp at 68. Explained to customer this is to low of a temp to run equipment at. Will cause freeze up issues and can damage compressor. Found good 20 degree temp split in home. Went to outdoor package unit and recorded amp draws, refrigerant pressures, visual electrical check, and motor inspections. System is over 10 years old with no issues noted while on site. Cannot determine any reason for reduced cooling capacity on day previous. Possibly froze system running at such a low setpoint. This is not a callback.

Ac Renew requested by customer. Arrived on site and checked in with customer. Was shown trane package unit on rear of house. Changed out contactor switch and added ac renew to circuit while testing. Upon completion customer explained thermostat reading about 2 degrees off temperature in home and feels this wasn't happening before previous visit. Explained capacitor changed out only provides electricity and phase shift to outdoor motors. Not related to indoor thermostat. Offered to look at thermostat settings to possibly calibrate offset for customer. Adjusted temperature offset back 2 degrees for home to stop over cooling. Customer happy with adjusting. All work is complete.
